Pressure Laboratory has developed a high accuracy measurement in order to support pressure measurement activities in the country.  The laboratory is also responsible to ensure all of pressure measurement meet and comply with the global measurement standards. The traceability chart for pressure measurement in Malaysia shown below:

Traceability for pressure measurement in Malaysia

At NMIM, Dead-weight Pressure Balances (DWPBs), are maintained as reference standards. There are also several sets of secondary and working standards such as Dead-weight Testers, Pressure Transducers and Water & Mercury Column Manometers being maintained in the laboratory.

The pneumatic pressure calibration capability is from x MPa up to 40 MPa while the hydraulic pressure calibration capability is from  y MPa up to 500 MPa.

NMIM plays an important role in disseminating the traceability of measurement to the whole country based on the International System of Units. Just like other world standard laboratories, NMIM has great responsibility in ensuring the national metrology infrastructures meet and comply with the global measurement standards.
