Proficiency Testing (PT) Activities
Proficiency testing activities is used as part of the assessment process to assess the ability of laboratories to perform competently calibration/tests/inspection for which accreditation is held¹. Other than satisfying the ISO/IEC 170252 requirement, it is also an important tool in evaluating the comparability of tests and calibration results among laboratories. NMIM proficiency testing activities include Proficiency Testing and Measurement Audit program.

Proficiency Testing (PT)
Proficiency Testing (PT) is an interlaboratory comparisons in which the test item is distributed sequentially among two or more participating laboratories and each laboratory’s result are compared to assigned (reference) values established by NMIM.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Measurement Audit (MA)
Measurement Audit (MA) is a comparison whereby a well characterised test item is sent to a single laboratory and the results are compared to a reference value established by NMIM.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Measurement audit may be organised by NMIM upon request. Kindly fill out the MA request form and email to ptnmim@sirim.my . Overview on the process of participating in MA is described here
